am i a "child of the west"?

hey guys!

yes, I do identify as a "child of the west." When I think of a "child of the west", I imagine a person who feels connected to the west coast, a place where life is easy-going and everyone is able to be their own person.

  • I am a "child of the west" because I truly enjoy living my life on the west coast of the United States. My life in California is very chill, and I really like being able to feel connected to everyone in some way.
  • I am a "child of the west" because I have lived in the city of Santa Barbara on the coast of California my entire life. It is the place that I call "home" and this city holds all of my memories

this is me

hey guys!

On the front of my identity mask there are five guitar picks on the forehead. The pick on the far left is the first guitar pick that I ever bought. It ignited my love for music. The music note that is on the tip of the nose displays that my strong passion music is the first trait that people discover about me. In the middle of the face is a pair of black sunglasses. This shows that I feel more confident behind a pair of sunglasses. On the bottom of the mask, the words 'Santa Barbara' are spelled out, letter by letter. This shows that Santa Barbara has been my home for my entire life, it is the place that I grew up and it holds all of my precious memories.

There is not a lot on the back of my identity mask because there truly isn't a lot that most people don't know about me. However, there is a symbol to represent my zodiac sign: Scorpio. Most people wouldn't know that I genuinely enjoy learning about the characteristics that makes up a Scorpio, the characteristics that make up me. There is also two parts of a wristband, in both hot pink and bright blue, that say awkward. Most people do know that I am in a rock band named awkward, however most people don't know that I am an awkward person, but, naturally, I embrace it. There are three dots of different sizes, and this represents that I am passionate about everything I do, but I dedicate and devote myself differently for each specific element. There are two small hearts, red and yellow, on the left side of the back of my mask. This displays that I love and care about my friends and family.

outside reading: the waxwork

In "The Waxwork" by A.M. Burrage, the protagonist, Raymond Hewson, is on a quest to publish a great story to The Morning Echo about his over-night stay in the Murder's Den in Marriner's Waxworks. The manager of the wax museum attempts to warm Hewson about the eerie atmosphere in the Murderers' Den, however Hewson is still up for the challenge. Hewson, once inside the Murderers' Den for only a few minutes, begins to feel as if the wax statues have come to life. His mind begins to play tricks on him, creating illusions of movements from the wax figures. The journalist quickly decides that he needs to escape from the Murderers' Den, but right at that moment one of the wax figures, known as Dr. Bourdette, steps off from his platform and begins a conversation with Hewson.

The protaginist, Raymond Hewson, has placed himself in a very difficult situation, staying in the Murderers' Den for a night. As I stated before, in the first paragraph, Hewson's mind begins to play tricks on him, causing him to see movements that were supposedly coming from the wax figures. Therefore, causing him to mentally panic. If I was put into this situation, I would feel the same way that Hewson felt. I would have been scared for my life, not knowing what was going to happen next.

my revolution

hey guys!

if you had the capability to create the revolution that you always
envisioned, what would you use this power to create? and how would your creation be able to affect people's approach on life?

if I was allotted this power, I would try my hardest to find a way to reduce judgement between people with different races, genders, sexual orientation, and cultural backgrounds.

my overall goal of my revolution would be to bring everyone together, so that everyone felt connected.

i want to ensure that everyone is able to create unforgettable memories while spending time with people that they love

so, what would your  revolution be?

my-topia

  • Scope: a city that is the size of Santa Barbara
  • Goals: to make sure that everyone is able to pursue what truly makes them happy in life
  • Population: everyone would be welcome
  • Education: children would attend school that would accommodate their personal interests
  • Religious: freedom to practice any religion or no religion at all
  • Architecture: everyone would live in a house with their family in little neighborhoods
To conclude, this city would allow people of all ages to be able to live the life that they want to live, pursuing their individual dreams.
